Our Convictions

Our convictions guide every aspect of our lives, shape our character and demand our integrity. We are guided by the biblical principle of doing all things as unto the Lord (Col 3:23). This has a significant impact on everything we do but in particular they impact our independence, our investments, our pricing and our relationships.

Independence - It is our conviction that we must remain independent. We are fee-only fiduciaries which means we have obligated ourselves by law to meet a higher standard. We must do better than what is “suitable”. We must do what is “best” for you. In order to stay independent and unbiased we do not sell any products. You can trust that our analysis, our guidance and our recommendations are unbiased and focused on helping you faithfully steward your resources in the wisest, most cost effective and tax efficient manner possible.

Investments - It is our conviction that good stewardship doesn’t waste money trying to guess market movements but focuses on taking advantage of the real drivers of market returns. We believe in disciplined investment planning and evidence-based investing while focusing on minimizing costs and taxes (all variables we can control). We believe in the benefits of consolidation, simplicity and considering the wholistic financial picture in making investment management decisions. We must know your risk tolerance, passions, and purposes as we construct a strategic allocation of the best low-cost, tax-efficient, passive and tactical investment funds.

Pricing - It is our conviction that our compensation should be commensurate with the nature, scope and complexity of our services to you. We have a fair and transparent pricing policy which dictates that we explain exactly what you’ll pay and why. We carefully consider the appropriate level of service for you and only charge for that level of service. We also believe that you pay us to be proactive. We feel a moral obligation to actively monitor your ever-changing situation, investment landscape and the tax laws in order to ensure you are making the most of every opportunity to save money, save taxes, reach your goals and maximize the impact of your wealth.

Relationships - Our convictions impact our relationships in many ways. Not the least of which is our focus on the holistic relationship: human, spiritual, intellectual, social and financial capital.
